Flowers and funerals
Every day
the sun
rises
upon me.
I may
not see it.
But it is
always
there.
Lifting
my face
to the sun
I am
blessed
by the
warmth
and light.
Every life
has a
beginning.
Most beginnings
are
small.
Mine was.
I grow.
Hopefully
bloom.
I am
different....
and
similar.
Sometimes
I
celebrate
with friends.
Party time!

fun with decorating
I've had fun recovering some old 'TV chairs'. They are mid 20C chairs that recline and are quite comfortable. My M-I-L was about to throw them out but I decided to hold on to them. They had a plain pale pink fabric on them. I found a pair of bolster cushion covers in this zebra-stripe and couldn't believe my luck! It was exactly what I had been looking for.
I am still to repaint this room but I do love this look. And don't you just love my recycled vinyl record bag?!!
The low cabinet behind is another piece I found in a Salvation Army story and I repainted the handles and lined all the draws with red faux fur that my M-I-L had in her pile of stuff!
I don't know why, but I really prefer recycled furniture for some reason. It seems to have more character somehow.

Another fresh garden brekky
As I returned from my morning walk, entering the side gate and coming around through the back yard, I was inspired to pick some herbs and a fresh radish (just ready) and make up one of my fresh fruit and herb mixes.
I had a blood orange and kiwi fruit taunting my taste buds from the fruit bowl. So I peeled and chopped them and tossed them in a bowl. I picked some fresh parsley (curley leaf - this is the most common variety in Australia and in my opinion has better flavour) and some mint. I was about to go inside and thought, hey, I wonder if rosemary might mix well with it. So I picked a little and held it up to my nose with the parsley and mint. Yup. Smelled pretty good together. That's always the initial test for me. If the aromas mix well, I figure the flavours will too.
I added to that a small radish I had picked a few minutes earlier. So I washed the herbs and radish, chopped them up and put them in the bowl with the fruit. Now, that won't keep me going for very long. Walnuts are always good in a salad. So I threw in a handful of raw walnuts. For a final flourish I drizzled it with 100% pure maple syrup. None of this 'maple flavoured' stuff for me!

Sitting at my lovely white table on a vintage chair I love with a posy of freesias I picked from the garden yesterday....

What a lovely breakfast?

Let your home be a visual feast.
My favourite red hat inspired me to make a lamp shade - I never wore it, so I decided to show it off in a different way! :D
